Those of us who founded LiveCharis have known each other due to serving in another Christian ministry. In the last three-four years, we, as leaders in that ministry, were contacted by pastors, primarily in Zimbabwe and Uganda, who found us on the internet and began inquiring about our teachings and materials and attending our virtual meetings. This was a new experience for us. They needed a framework and structure. After some months of “vetting” and building our relationships, we convinced the Board of that ministry to open a “missions fund (a designated donation)” to help the efforts of these pastors with classes, teachings, and funding for equipment to conduct the classes on a large scale. We developed an “Outreach Team” to oversee that effort. That ministry has recently dissolved their missions fund designation, downsized the assistance to those pastors, and moved the funding to other efforts. They have re-directed the efforts of that team to other endeavors, deeming them a higher priority.
We feel strongly that those pastors need our continued support. We have worked closely with them and have developed deep relationships. We decided to explore forming our own organization which could receive donations for their support, as well as further the Gospel domestically. And so, we are pursuing that effort.
